On a hill, inside a pine forest overlooking the sea, Acqua di Friso is the ideal place for tourists in search of holiday of health and harmony with the surrounding territory.
From the archaeo-camping (as we like to call it), northwards, eyou can enjoy the breathtaking view of the Aragonese castle on the sea (Le Castella) and, southwards, the Punta Stilo lighthouse.
The sea :
From the property of this old tradizional farm, set between the sea and the mountains, you can reach a private access to the beach (only 6 minutes) using our shuttle service.
Activities:
You can also enjoy, through the glass bottom of a boat, the fantastic submarine scenery of our protected sea
With its wrecked ships, and a flora and fauna that are unforgettable for underwater swimmers.
Archeologia subacquea, pesca sulle barche dei pescatori.
Trekking through canyons, falls and streams, along the ancient path “Via dei Carbonai”.

The Sanctuary of Acqua di Friso :
Protected by nature, silence and its strong energy, this is where the ancient Greek used to worship water.Recent archaeological finds have in fact revealed remains of a sanctuary (VI-V cent. b.C.), dating back to Greek period, close to Friso spring water, once used for religious rituals. We offer our guests the possibility to take part in summer field researches where it is possible to personally follow the excavations and the restoration of the finds.
It is in this setting that we organize tours and excursions to villages, castles, abbeys and museums trying to convey the visitors the real magic of Calabria.
Cottages :
Perfectly hidden in the pine forest rise the suggestive small houses, once homes of shepards.The modern kitchens and the bathrooms with shower boxes are also equipped with bed linen (extra).
Camping :
Inside the pine forest with a view of the sea is situated the camp-site with room for ten caravans with every kind of commodity (showers, toilets, wash-basins, hot water and laundry).

Dogs are allowed but to a certain extent (The Arocha cottage has a nearby paddock)

The agro-camping has a good convention with a nearby swimming pool.

At 100 metres above sea level like a balcony over the Gulf of Squillace on the Ionian Sea between Capo Rizzuto and Punto Stilo, you’ll find this 19th century, restored house with attractive, comfortable rooms and elegant suites, with a small arena for games and shows, swimming pool, spacious green lawns and pine wood, fishing lake, and 8 km of paths for walking and mountain bikes, all surrounded by 44 hectares of uncontaminated nature, olive trees, citrus orchards, oak woods and Aleppo pines. Only 3 km away is the ancient Greek Skilletion, later the Roman Minerva Scolacium where the extraordinary past comes to light with new archaeological discoveries. The coast offers long, sandy beaches (Copanello and Caminia) framed by rocks and crystal-clear water.

Among the amenities on offer: a children’s play area, five-man football pitch, swimming pools (standard and child’s pool), fishing lake on-site, archery (bring your own equipment), and mountain bikes.

There are numerous opportunities in the area for excursions and guided visits: for example, the nearby archaeological sites, hinterland villages, or the towns of Stilo, Gerace (for its cathedral), Locri Epizefyri (for excavations) and Reggio Calabria.
