La Conca farmhouse is born from owner’s idea to preserve and valorize the old family abodes that have been first lived by the ancestrors of family and then used, until a few years ago, as barns and agricultural houses. This way the idea of the restructuring of the first structure is born. It is situated in Contrada Riga 13, and is formed by two communicating apartments with each two double rooms, two bathrooms and equipped kitchen.
The rooms are partly furnished in poor art and parly they preserve family furniture. Paves are partly new and partly original as they were in the past.
The structure is isolated, set in a suggestive natural landscape, where is still possible to hear rooster’s sing, where is possible to see at dusk the bucks walking and is not difficult to meet wild boars and foxes that are the true masters of these reserve places. Near to this structure there are various agricultural entreprises that will be happy to let you taste just milked milk or eggs just taken from the hens and mthen… farmhouse owners will delight you with their homages: sweets just cooked to taste with the house-made jams, self-production oil, Montepulciano wine and walnuts..

Agriturismo Ripalta

Ripalta is a small agricultural farm of approximately 20 hectares, near Pietranico and Corvara. The farm, handed down by the generations, with its customs, its cultivating traditions, and its buildings has adapted to modern agricultural demands, whilst respecting the environment. The owners have become organic farmers rejecting intensive farming. Old rooms previously used as stables, granary, and olive cellars, have been recently converted into two ground floor apartments maintaining the vaulted ceilings and all their original character. We are at the gateway of the Parco Nazionale del Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga, three kilometres from the Forca di Penne pass, on the mountainside of the Monti della Laga massif. On the Tratturo Magno, the longest route of beef pastureland, the herds migrate to the Aquilano mountains for the winter to arrive at Foggia and retracing their steps back through the pass in the spring, to arrive at higher pastures where the grass is fresh for the whole summer.

The old and beautifully renovated farmhouse is situated at 300 m above sea level, in the midst of centuries old olive trees. We are at ca. 25 km from the Adriatic Sea and 20 km from the Gran Sasso mountain range. The farm uses biological, or organic farming methods, it covers 8 hectares of land and offers only biological products. Our guests will have rooms with bathroom at their disposal, as well as a large garden with a bower and toys for children and a restaurant where you can try out our recipes from Grandmother’s times.
Activities: Swimming pool with hydromassage, soccer field with synthetic grass, bicycles, nature paths, guided and independent visits to the WWF oasis Lago di Penne, museums visits: Archaeological Museum “G.B. Leopardi” of Penne, the Municipal Diocesan Museum of Penne, the Naturalistic Museum “Nicola De Leone” of Penne, the Museum of Farmer Traditions and Arts in Picciano (4 km).

Agriturismo L’Aperegina

Aperegina is a biodynamic holiday farm amidst the green Gran Sasso-Laga National Park at 850 mt. (a.s.l.). Rustic shepherds house surrounded by woods with panoramic view across the mountains to the sea. Has two double bedrooms with the possibility of up to six beds. Aperegina is an organic tourist farm situated in the green centre of the three Abruzzi national parks. The main building is an old shepherd’s house with a stable, which has been restored. Guests can be accomodated in double rooms, or triple rooms, all with bathrooms. One of our rooms is very special: it is build above a tree. L’Aperegina has plenty of guest carparking and offers hospitality in the seasons of Spring, Summer and Autumn. The main activity is bee keeping, and the surrounding area is occupied by various farm animals, such as pigs, a donkey, a goat, and poultry. The gardens are used mainly for the cultivation of vegetables, and include a small area for the cultivation of medicinal herbs. The orchard has an abundance of cherries, prunes, apples, figs, and walnuts used in the making of their own jams and liqueurs. Guests will be warmly welcomed with genuine hospitality and friendliness. Guests are free to explore every part of the farm. The meals are shared together with the hosts. Guests can discuss and learn about the activities on the farm, the methods of cultivation, and the products. Traditional home cooking will highlight the rural traditions and the richness of the gastronomy of the region: bread and home made pasta, pizza, barbecued steak and dressed pork products. The guests are invited to be involved in the preparation of jams, sauces and liquers, from mulberries, blackberries, currants, quince, sour cherries, grapes, rabina, walnuts, ratafia, fennel, cornelian berries, juniper berries, and more. Pork is cured on site in the preparation of ham (prosciutto), salami, bacon and sausages. Our farm cares for the natural resources, therefore: we collect approximately 90% of the rainwater and Solar power is used to heat our water.
